SGA Security a Certified Member of ICoCA, has been named the winner of the PSC (Private Security Company) Member Award at the 2025 Responsible Security Awards presented by the International Code of Conduct Association (ICoCA). The Award relates to embodying Goal 3: Just Transition under its Strategic Plan and for demonstrating outstanding contribution to responsible private security across East Africa.

This recognition comes at a time when the global private security industry is experiencing heightened scrutiny and growing demand for accountability, human rights compliance and transparent operational standards. As social institutions increasingly prioritize responsible business practices, security providers are expected to demonstrate measurable commitment to ethical conduct and sustainable impact.

While receiving the award, SGA Security Group CEO & Chairman Jules Delahaije reaffirmed SGA Security’s commitment in ensuring service delivery through quality, discipline and integrity while respecting human rights.

“This recognition reaffirms our long-standing belief that responsible security goes beyond compliance. We continue to invest in the future of our security officers, ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary skills needed to survive even beyond employment,” said Jules.

This award comes following a partnership with Base Titanium, where over 150 SGA Security officers were deployed to offer security services on the 1,600-hectare site. After Base Titanium ceased its mining operations at the site in Kwale County, SGA Security helped its security officers through this transition, ensuring that they were well equipped with financial literacy, mentorship and reskilling programmes aimed at ensuring that the officers would navigate the transition with ease. The journey to support the security officers through this transition underscores SGA Security’s commitment to the ICoCA Standards of upholding human rights and operating in a responsible way.

SGA Security has also ensured that all their security officers undergo rigorous training that includes human rights education, international humanitarian law, conflict de-escalation and professional conduct aligned with ICoCA standards. Continuous refresher training and leadership development programs are also offered to ensure sustained professional growth and service excellence.

“This recognition celebrates your outstanding contribution to the private security sector and your commitment to the highest standards of accountability, transparency and responsible business practices” explains Florie Barbotte, ICoCA Communications Officer

Winning the 2025 ICoCA Responsible Security Award not only reinforces SGA Security’s standing as a benchmark for ethical private security but also underscores the company’s continued commitment to advancing inclusive, accountable and community-centered security practices across Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

Founded in 2013 in Geneva, ICoCA was established to oversee compliance with the International Code of Conduct for Private Security Service Providers. Its Responsible Security Awards recognizes companies that exemplify accountability, transparency and respect for human rights in complex operating environments.
