SGA Uganda celebrates 25 years of impacting lives

October, 2019

On May 6, 1994, the then Security Group Uganda was incorporated by our founding father the late Edmond van Tongeren, under the name Group 4 and later rebranded to SGA Uganda.

As SGA Uganda celebrates 25 years of existence, the security firm is renowned for providing quality security solutions to homes and businesses to a wide range of customers through guarding, dog patrol, search marshals, close protection, cash in transit, fleet tracking and courier and customer relations services.

Besides provision of vast services to clients, SGA Uganda has been on the forefront in creating positive impact by partnering with the community as part of the strategic pillars in corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Notable moments are the participation in the achievement of the environment strategic pillars through a community cleaning exercise at Ntinda Trading Center all the way to Kira Road Police station in Kampala in partnership with KCCA Nakawa. Dressed in clean-up safety gear, SGA Uganda staff led by Customer Service Manager Regina Nabunje and supported by the operations and guarding teams had one mission “A clean environment for all”. Similarly, in line with the health strategic pillar, SGA Uganda in collaboration with KCCA Nakawa spearheaded free screening and testing of Hepatitis B.

The communities of St. Stevens and St. Mbaga in Kireka C in Kira Municipality were treated to a special meal when SGA staff interacted with them and donated foodstuffs, clothing, sanitary items and monetary donations to over 20 families comprising of the orphans, elderly, widows and widowers. Present at the event was Kireka C Chairman-elect Mr. Balikowa Richard who was intrigued by SGA’s putting a smile on the community. Representatives from all departments were also present among them David Alex Tabaro, Financial Controller Hilda Nalumu, The HRAM, Winnifred Akello and Head Sales, Marketing and Customer Service, Regina Nabunje, Abdu Nasser Mutyaba, Winnifred Businge and Louise Karungi to mention but a few.

SGA remains committed to ensure that our customers and community are always safe and enjoy the best quality products and solutions through continuous innovative ideas that are geared to demonstrate customers value for money.
